Louisville, KY-based Carrier Vibrating Equipment Inc. announced Tuesday that it and New York-based designer of processing equipment S. Howes LLC have created a holding company together called CPEG, or Carrier Process Equipment Group Inc.

“We are excited to bring together some of the industry’s leading processing and material handling companies, said the new holding company’s chief executive officer and current chief executive officer of Carrier, Douglas A. Schieber in a press release. “Carrier and S. Howes are recognized for innovation and advancement, and hold more than 100 patents and an array of proprietary technologies. By leveraging the capabilities of both businesses we can deliver new solutions to our customers.”

Together the companies will design and produce an array of equipment for bulk solids handling and processing, including dryers, coolers, feeders, screeners, filters, size reduction equipment, mixers, separators, conveyors, spiral elevators, shakeouts, and recycling equipment.

“Carrier Vibrating Equipment has always been a technological leader and innovator of process machinery,” said Fred Mertz, president and owner of S. Howes LLC, “and we look forward to the synergies that will result under CPEG.”

Officially formed as a 100% employee-owned holding company in the second quarter of 2016, the company said it will bring on new staff at both Carrier and S. Howes as a result of the company’s formation.
